28 Feb 2006 Products discontinued? No problem!
For economic reasons, big-name manufacturers of CW laser diodes focus on mass markets for consumer products such as CD and DVD players, laser printers, and data transfer and pointer applications. With production output in the millions of units, laser diodes are becoming less and less expensive while improving in quality.
The flip side of the coin, however, is that it is becoming more and more commonplace for large-scale manufacturers in Japan to discontinue laser diode products or to change their specifications. By doing so, they neglect the needs of European clients requiring a few hundred, thousand or maybe ten thousand units per year.
Thats why LASER COMPONENTS has decided to make CW laser diodes a new cornerstone of its business. While the ADL series will be manufactured in Asia, LASER COMPONENTS will be responsible for packaging and assembling the LCG series. Standard wavelengths include 635, 655, 780 and 808 nm. We offer output powers from 5 mW to several watts, depending on the wavelength.
CD packages, 5.6 mm and 9 mm, are standard, with other wavelength and housing options available upon customer request. Laser diodes with integrated driver are also available.
