Hamamatsu CMOS linear image sensor
The S15611W from Hamamatsu Photonics is a CMOS linear image sensor featuring 1024 x 1 effective pixels with a pixel size of 7 μm × 200 μm and an effective photosensitive area length of 7.168 mm. The device supports a maximum readout speed of 40 MHz and a maximum line rate of 34 kHz when all pixels are read out. It incorporates a timing generator, bias generator, and 12-bit A/D converter, providing digital output through a single device.
The sensor operates from a single 3.3 V supply and includes SPI communication functions for partial readout and offset adjustment. Simultaneous integration of all pixels is supported, together with a variable integration time function for electronic shutter operation. The S15611W utilizes a chip-size package (CSP) structure for a compact and thin design. The spectral response range is 400 nm to 1000 nm, and the device is supplied in a non-cooled package comprising borosilicate glass and a silicon substrate.
