RIO Inc. Releases Optical Phase-Locked Loop System

Date Announced: 02 Sep 2011

Santa Clara, Calif. – August 30, 2011 – Redfern Integrated Optics Inc. (RIO) expands its portfolio of industry-leading low noise laser modules and subsystems with the introduction of a new Optical Phase Locked Loop (OPLL) System with tunable frequency offset – available in both rack-mounted and OEM module configurations.

Designed around RIO’s PLANEX™ game-changing lasers with exceptional reliability and performance, the OPLL subsystem provides exceptional value and ease-of-use with very low RIN, ultra low phase noise and narrow linewidth, excellent wavelength stability, fast tuning, and a user-selectable frequency offset tuning functionality.

RIO’s OPLL is a turn-key solution that reduces the development cycle time and allows for simple integration into advanced fiber optic sensing and monitoring systems and other precision metrology applications such as, high-frequency vibration testing, microwave photonics, and atomic clocks.

The rack-mounted version of the OPLL is available and shipping now. The compact OEM module version will be available in Q1 2012.
