Three Docter Optics business units – Express Glass Services (EGS), Optical Systems (OSYS) and Precision Glass Components (PGC) - will be present at World of Photonics 2011 in Munich.
Docter Optics offers its worldwide acting customers an exemplary way to enhance the efficiency of their value chains. The core competencies of these business units, all of which provide customer-specific services tailored to cover the specific needs of many market participants, are what make this possible. Docter Optics customers can count on the company’s business units for the following core competencies:
PGC – Precision Glass Components produces molded optical glass components to meet specific customer requirements. Products include e.g. aspheres, arrays and free-form lenses. This business unit has just put a new glass furnace into operation to support the use of inline-fast-molding technology, which will permit large-scale production of optical components such as concentrators/ light pipes from the material immediately as it comes from the furnace.
Docter Optics Express Glass Services (EGS) is known as an international service provider that serves industry worldwide. EGS stands for the fast production of precision semi-finished optical products, prototypes and pre-series components and has earned an outstanding reputation as a source of specialty optical glasses, synthetic quartz glass, ceramic glass and filter glass.
This business unit has put an enlarged facility in Triptis, Thuringia, into operation earlier this year and now is poised to meet even the most sophisticated customer requirements due to the installation of new equipment and expansion of the business unit’s workforce by recruiting highly qualified personnel.
The company’s Optical Systems business unit is a preferred development partner that offers an array of efficient services to complement the value chain of the company’s customers – from optical design to theengineering and production of optomechanical / optoelectronic modules to final assembly of complete optical subassemblies.
Docter Optics is also the world market and technology leader in a further area of business: The company ships over 20 million aspheres and free-form lenses per year for automotive projection headlights (LED, xenon and halogen). This permits an uninterrupted flow of synergistic effects from this area of activity to other business units.
Docter Optics will be present at this year’s Laser - World of Photonics at Stand 329 in Hall B2.
