Canadian outfit launches new product line in advance of key optical communications event.
QUEBEC CITY, CANADA, March 2, 2011 — TeraXion announced today the introduction of new additions to its current dispersion compensation, specialized lasers and laser components portfolio. TeraXion has been a key player in the advent of 40 Gbit/s networks thanks to its tunable dispersion compensators. As optical communication systems evolve from direct to coherent detection, TeraXion is shaping its product offering to follow the market’s evolution and needs.
These new product introductions target mainly Telecom R&D labs where optical performance and innovation are paramount.
More specifically, the CS-CDE Chromatic Dispersion Emulator brings to the market a compact low loss module that emulates tens of thousands of picoseconds per nanometer and extends the ClearSpectrumTM dispersion compensator family. The PS-TNL, an ITLA-based Tunable Narrow Linewidth laser, offers white noise suppression using a patented optical filtering technique. Finally, the PS-LS Laser Synthesizer, featuring a high-gain analog optical phase-lock loop (OPLL), is also a new element to the PureSpectrumTM specialized lasers portfolio.
“As a leader in dispersion compensation, introducing a first series of coherent communication products is TeraXion’s next logical step to ensure dedicated roadmap support to leading optical system providers” said Martin Guy, TeraXion’s Vice-President of Product Management and Technology.
The new coherent communication products portfolio as well as dispersion compensators and specialized lasers will be on display during the 2011 OFC/NFOEC exhibition at booth #1332, March 8-10, in Los Angeles, California.
