Date Announced: 31 Jan 2025
January 30, 2025 - Advanced Fiber Resources is pleased to announce its successful participation in Photonics West 2025, held January 28-30 in San Francisco. During the show, AFR highlighted several new and enhanced fiber laser components specifically designed to deliver high power, reliability, and improved efficiency.
Gain Fiber and Free-Space Pumping Isolator
AFR’s new optical isolator features a maximum average power of 150 W, peak power of 200 kW for ns pulses, and an M² degradation of less than 10%. Ideal for high peak and high average power fiber lasers.
Mini-cBeam Fiber to Free-Space Isolator
Compact design with a maximum average power of 55 W, typical insertion loss of 0.3 dB, and typical peak isolation of 30 dB. Ideal for fiber amplifiers and lasers requiring output isolation.
20 W Compact In-Line Isolator
With a typical insertion loss of 0.7 dB, a minimum isolation of 30 dB and a maximum peak power of 10 kW for ns pulses, it enables efficient optical signal management in a compact size.
3 kW Laser Cavity Component
AFR's 3 kW Laser Cavity Component integrates a high power (kW) laser combiner and a fiber bragg grating in a compact package that reduces fiber splicing, improves electro-optical efficiency, and increases reliability in high power, continuous-wavelength fiber laser systems.
Low Power Pulsed Laser
AFR's subsidiary, B&A, showed a compact solution featuring high peak power, ns pulse widths, and high repetition rates, ideal for LiDAR, mapping, and range detection.

Throughout the event, AFR collaborated with partners, customers, and industry professionals to explore evolving requirements for high power fiber laser components and integrated solutions. Attendees also showed great interest in AFR's broader product line, including laser combiners, electro-optic modulators, swept lasers, etc. In addition, AFR participated in a panel discussion on New Materials for Wafer Scale Manufacturing of Optical Interconnects, organized by LightCounting. During the event, AFR presented the status of the TFLN wafer-scale optical interconnect manufacturing platform. With numerous advantages and an increasingly robust supply chain, TFLN is shaping the future of wafer-scale manufacturing for optical interconnects.
