Claudia Jaffe, Ph.D. has been promoted to President & CEO of Lumencor, Inc. effective immediately. Along with Steven Jaffe, Ph.D., she co-founded the Company with the mission of modernizing technical lighting used in the life sciences as they spearheaded the launch of a slew of novel solid-state, turn-key Light Engines.
Since Lumencor's inception, the Company has evolved its product offerings to meet the precision lighting requirements for customers across life sciences, clinical applications, and semiconductor metrology. In her role as Chief Commercial Officer, Dr. Jaffe has most recently pushed the company to focus on providing complex application-specific analytical instrumentation for the life sciences. Such “whole systems” are based on optical trains designed with Lumencor Light Engines for best-in-class sensitivity, precision, and speed. The Company expects its whole systems market segment to grow and intends to harness market-specific management with her expertise.
Given Dr. Jaffe’s detailed understanding of the Company's varied customer base and their application needs, the Board believes the Company will be best served by promoting Dr. Jaffe to her new role as President and CEO. Steven Jaffe will maintain his focus on engineering and operations in his new role as Lumencor’s COO.
