Date Announced: 22 Nov 2022
Berlin, Germany -- The Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) teamed up with partnering institutions to organize a day promoting young talents.
Entitled "Working in Photonics: Entry-level opportunities in the world of photonics”, the event took place on October 26, 2022.
Around 50 interested participants received an insight into the working world of photonics and further information on suitable entry-level opportunities.
The gathering highlighted the discipline’s diversity, focusing on various career paths in photonics: from apprenticeships to laboratory work to doctoral studies.
To this end, Fraunhofer HHI cooperated with research and industry partners: Technische Universität Berlin, Berliner Hochschule für Technik, Oberstufenzentrum Lise Meitner, Fraunhofer IZI-BB, ADVA, Allresist, Chembio, TOPTICA-eagleyard, ficonTEC, LZH, micro resist technology, OSRAM, SCIENION, VPI and SENTECH.
"Promoting young talent is a topic close to our hearts," explains Crispin Zawadzki, deputy group leader of Hybrid PICs at Fraunhofer HHI. "With our hybrid integrated photonic devices, we are laying the foundation for important future fields such as telecommunications, environmental analytics, diagnostics and quantum technology. For us, recruiting means inspiring young people to help shape the future with us."
Fraunhofer HHI jointly organized the event with its partners from the PolyChrome-Berlin consortium and the PolyPhotonics-Berlin e.V. association.
