Barcelona, Spain -- Optica (formerly OSA), the society advancing optics and photonics worldwide, formally recognized ICFO and Fujitsu Network Communications (USA) as winners of the 2021 Optica Diversity and Inclusion Advocacy Recognition. The recognition honors the steadfast commitment and achievements of Optica members, companies or institutions that proactively work to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive optics and photonics community.
This week at Optica’s annual CLEO event in San Jose, California, Optica CEO Elizabeth Rogan was able to personally present ICFO Director, Lluis Torner, in representation of all ICFOnians, with the award (pictured above).
As diversity in all its forms is one of our institute’s core values and behind the strength of our community, ICFO is very proud to receive this recognition from Optica, a global society at the heart of the Optics and Photonics community that is actively working to make our fields more diverse, equitable and inclusive.
