Focuslight Technologies, a global provider of high power diode lasers, micro optics and photonics application solutions, has announced the appointment of Mr. Kenneth Ferree as Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing. An experienced laser expert, he will lead the newly centralized sales and marketing team at Focuslight. The team covers three geographic regions in Asia, EMEA, and the Americas, where they market and sell products from the company's high power diode lasers, laser optics, automotive LiDAR components and transmitters, and UV line business units.
Mr. Ferree has 30 years of experience in the laser industry and has held a number of positions in senior management, sales and marketing, and R&D. Prior to Focuslight, he was Director of Sales, Ophir, at MKS Instruments. He also led the sales function at Ophir-Spircon where he was responsible for building the company's global network of representatives and distributors of laser beam diagnostic products. Previously, he worked in R&D, both in management and as an electro-optical engineer. Mr. Ferree is an active member of SPIE, IEEE, Optical Society of America, and The Laser Institute. He holds a degree in electro-optics from the University of Houston in Texas.
