Date Announced: 28 Jun 2018

Site near Chicago O'Hare airport supports full range of SPI's fiber laser products.

SPI Lasers has announced the opening of their new service center in Wauconda, Illinois serving customers in North and South America.  The new facility complements their existing Sales and Applications facility in Santa Clara, California and provides customers with a central location for service and support of SPI Lasers products.  The new Wauconda facility is near Chicago’s O’Hare airport enabling efficient transport for all customers in the Americas.

The SPI Lasers Service Center is equipped with the tools, equipment, and facilities needed to service the full range of SPI Lasers products, including pulsed redENERGY lasers from 20-200W and cw redPOWER lasers from 100-8000W.  The service center includes a splicing capability to enable replacement of laser modules & beam delivery cables. The facility also offers a full electronic test diagnostic and recalibration capability as well as local spares holding.

Ken Dzurko, General Manager of SPI Lasers LLC, commented, “The opening of the Wauconda Service Facility marks an important milestone for SPI Lasers in providing in-territory service of high power fiber lasers for our most demanding industrial customers.  Together with recent product innovations in both pulsed and cw fiber lasers and our world-class applications capabilities, the service facility completes the regional offering to make SPI Lasers the preferred choice for a fiber laser based manufacturing solution.”

Matt Shakespeare, Head of Service noted “Our new facility in the Americas is part of our strategy to work increasingly closely with our customers and follows on from the new Service Centre we opened in Seoul last year.  We look forward to making further announcements of additional service facilities later this year.”
