TriLumina Appoints Dr. Gianluca Bacchin As Vice President Of Engineering

Industry veteran joins VCSEL maker from Lumentum.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., Dec. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- TriLumina today announced that Gianluca Bacchin, PhD has joined the company as Vice President of Engineering. The addition of Dr. Bacchin brings a leader with extensive industrial-leading experience in VCSEL development to head TriLumina's VCSEL engineering team.

Gianluca has 17 years of semiconductor laser diode experience with the last 5 focused on 3D-sensing technologies. He joins TriLumina from Lumentum (formerly JDSU), where he was Senior Product Engineering Director for 3D-Sensing leading the VCSEL array transition to high-volume manufacturing. At QuantaSol, acquired by JDSU in 2011, he was VP of Engineering. He also held various positions at Intense and was their Product Development Director and worked at Corning. Gianluca holds an engineering degree from Polytechnic of Milan and a PhD from The University of Tokyo.
