Knight Optical is pleased to announce an increase in their range of stock colored filters

Date Announced: 26 Sep 2017

Knight Optical is pleased to announce an increase in their range of stock colored longpass, shortpass and bandpass filters for immeidate globally delivery.

Color glass filters are manufactured by injecting coloured dye into a glass substrate. The dye gives the filter its colour and spectral performance. In this respect, colour glass filters are simple, stable optics and can be used in a range of applications such as cosmetic laser therapy and lighting. While colour glass filters are cheap and easily cut to custom shapes and sizes, they are limited by the colours available. For applications with operating wavelengths outside of those provided by colour glass filters customers may find our selection of alternative filters more appropriate.

Colored glass filters can typically used for some of the following applications:

ANPR cameras -the wavelengths typically used by ANPR camera companies are: 695nm; 740nm; 810nm; 850nm; 910nm and 940nm

LED Lighting Industry Within the Industry, Color Glass Filters can used as downlights within a stage production by filtering the different visible wavelengths and filter out unwanted light from a white light source to provide desired coloured light that is perceived by an audience to be a highly saturated or intense color.

This is just what you need to help set the atmosphere for whatever event you’re planning.

A Laser Range Finder is a range finder that utilises the use of a laser beam to be able to determine the distance of an object. Laser Range Finders are most typically operated on the principle of sending a laser pulse in the form of a narrow beam towards the object of interest and then measuring the time taken for the laser pulse to be reflected off of the target in question and received by the sender. Knight Optical offers Colour Glass Filters for such an application, be it either short pass, long pass or bandpass filters. We can also offer these as customised filters with specific band blocking coatings to optimise your wavelength of choice

CMOS sensors are used within commercial grade Digital SLR cameras as a replacement for the more expensive CCD. These CMOS sensors are extremely sensitive to IR light, which can lead to discolouration. IR cut filters are used to block the IR light, meaning that photographs are taken with life-like colours. Colour Glass Filters can be used in variations of Bandpass, Long pass and Short pass, depending on which wavelengths of light need to be blocked resulting in different key areas being more easily distinguished.

Knight Optical can offer you Stock and Custom Colour Glass Filters, for use within IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) in a range of materials of brands such as Schott, Kopp and CDGM.

Inline Cameras, Colour Glass Short pass Filters are more desirable as they cut out the IR wavelengths mean the imaging is not saturated with the IR giving the image better clarity.

And many more uses!

We hold a massive inventory of Bandpass, Long pass, and Short pass.

  • Stock sizes of 25mm dia, and 50x50mm squares x 3mmthk.

  • Custom shapes and sizes available

  • Alternative thickness substrates available.

All our Colour Glass Filters are checked for quality in our state-of-the-art Metrology laboratory using our Varian Cary 5000 spectrophotomer’s fitted with UMA, allowing us to work to the highest QA standards and meet the tolerance specifications on these precision components.
