Knight Optical offer optics for Airport lighting and aeronautical instrumentation
Knight Optical provide a range of custom and stock precision optical solutions
for a range of applications in the aeronautical sector.
Knight Optical now supply a variety of components for precision pathway indicator (PAPI)
systems. A PAPI is a system of red, white and green lights, whose ratio at a given
point in flight allow the pilot to determine the correct angle of approach. These
components include, but are not limited to:-
Bespoke lens assemblies and singlet lenses up to 300mm in diameter, available
in a variety of optical glasses. Multiple lens systems will allow a sharper transition
between colours in PAPI systems. Knight Optical are able to provide custom
metalwork to create a fully finished assembly.
Dichroic color filters covering the entire visible spectrum from 350-750nm.
Including Red, green, yellow, blue, cyan and magenta. Our dichroic filters are
available as diameters, squares and bespoke shapes and sizes up to 400mm
diameter. Substrates used can withstand 250°C (482°F)
Parabolic reflectors, to be used in conjunction with single lenses. Our bespoke
anodised aluminium reflectors ensure a parallel light beam is produced in systems
where a multiple lens array is not feasible.
In addition to the PAPI components listed above, Knight Optical also supply
bespoke Fresnel prisms in glass or plastic for taxi indicator lighting.
Our state of the art Metrology and Quality Assurance department ensure that
each component is individually inspected and tested to ensure it meets your exact
specification.
