Evergreen Solar Introduces New ES-E Series STRING RIBBON® Solar Panel

Date Announced: 15 Nov 2010

New ISO 9001 certified panels have more power and a higher voltage for micro-inverter compatibility.

MARLBORO, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Evergreen Solar, Inc. (NasdaqGM: ESLR), a manufacturer of String Ribbon® solar panels with its proprietary silicon wafer technology, today announced the launch of its new ES-E Series String Ribbon solar panels.

These new panels feature a higher voltage making them micro-inverter compatible for residential installation. They are also IEC 61701 salt mist certified, making them ideal for installations in coastal regions. In addition they are UL and CEC listed as well as ISO 9001 certified.

The new ES-E series are all-purpose panels available from 210 to 220W and deliver exceptional field performance yet are versatile enough to be installed on virtually any roof in almost any climate. The panel aesthetics have also been improved by imbedding the electrical ties between the cell strings inside the panel so they are not visible.

“Like all our products, these panels have been designed with the customer’s needs in mind. They have a higher voltage which gives the installer a broader selection of regular and micro-inverters to work with as well as allowing for different string lengths to suit specific roof sizes and layouts,” said Scott Gish, Evergreen Solar’s Vice President, Sales and Marketing. “They also have higher power which is an advantage for larger systems where maximizing the power per panel while keeping the size of the panel manageable is important.”

Made with Evergreen’s proprietary String Ribbon wafers, these elegant black framed panels offer exceptional performance and industry-leading environmental credentials. They deliver more electricity and have the smallest carbon footprint and the quickest energy payback of any silicon-based panel in the industry, now at less than 12 months.
