Meadowlark Optics Announces Acquisition of CRi Spatial Light Modulator Product Line

Date Announced: 26 Mar 2015

Single- and dual-mask options available.

FREDERICK, Colo., March 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Meadowlark Optics (Meadowlark) is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Cambridge Research & Instrumentation, Inc. (CRi) Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) product line.

CRi's line of liquid crystal 1x128 and 1x640 SLMs, designed and manufactured for several years, has been added to Meadowlark's existing transmissive and reflective SLM product lines. SLMs are electrically programmable devices that modulate light in a fixed spatial (pixel) pattern. SLMs have an expanding role in many applications where light control, often of ultrafast laser pulses, on a pixel-by-pixel basis across a particular spectrum is critical for optimum system performance. SLMs are used to control incident light in amplitude, phase, or the combination of both. CRi SLMs pioneered the design and use of a single liquid crystal based SLM to control both amplitude and phase simultaneously.

"We are excited to now offer CRi's SLMs to our customers," said Garry Gorsuch, President & CEO of Meadowlark. "CRi has successfully sold to hundreds of research teams over the years. Adding the CRi SLM product demonstrates our commitment to SLM users worldwide by expanding our capabilities into additional markets."

Meadowlark's SLMs offer options with single and dual masks allowing separate amplitude and phase control (or both simultaneously) for many applications requiring precision ultra-fast laser pulse shaping.
