David Upham to Lead SA Photonics Engineering Team

LOS GATOS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SA Photonics is pleased to announce that Mr. David Upham has joined SA Photonics as Vice President of Engineering, effective immediately. David will lead SA Photonics’ engineering team to develop and produce advanced defense and commercial products.

“David has a long track record of developing strong cross-functional engineering teams to design complex systems on-time and on-budget. His technical capabilities combined with his attention to engineering process/infrastructure development and execution will provide the support needed for the accelerated growth of SA Photonics Communication & Sensing and Vision Products divisions,” said Mr. James Coward, President and CEO of SA Photonics.

David, a graduate of University of California at Davis, has over 30 years of experience in engineering and leading engineering teams. He has led teams ranging in size from start-ups up to organizations with over 300 engineers, at companies including Applied Signal Technology, Ciena Corp., Kestrel Solutions, Radix Technologies, ARGOSystems, and General Dynamics. David’s strength is in leading multi-discipline engineering teams from system concept development through product general availability for advanced commercial telecommunication and US Government applications.
