Spectroscopy specialist Benjamin Bird joins from Northeastern University in Boston.
Daylight Solutions, Inc., a leading manufacturer of molecular detection and imaging solutions in the mid-infrared, announced the addition of Dr. Benjamin Bird to the company’s mid-infrared imaging team. Dr. Bird, a world-renowned expert in infrared spectroscopic imaging with extensive experience in both instrumentation and data analysis techniques, has joined Daylight Solutions as an Applications Scientist. Dr. Bird will be responsible for continuing the development of cutting-edge spectral imaging products, including the evolution of the Spero Laser-Based Infrared Microscope.
As a recognized expert in the biomedical imaging community, Dr. Bird brings a wealth of infrared imaging experience to the Daylight Solutions team, including special expertise in the development of vibrational spectroscopic technologies for clinical translation in the cancer diagnostics sector. He has published over 30 papers, contributed to multiple book chapters, won multiple awards, and is an inventor on multiple patents in the field. Prior to joining Daylight Solutions, Dr. Bird earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Nottingham University (Nottingham, UK) and continued his research using FTIR imaging for automated histopathology in Professor Max Diem’s Laboratory for Spectral Diagnosis at Northeastern University (Boston, MA).
