Inrad Optics Receives 4th Installment of $2.2M Year IDIQ Contract for Metal Head Mirrors

Inrad Optics (OTC Bulletin Board: INRD) announced today that it has received a contract order totalling $585,553 from the U.S. Army Contracting Command in Warren, MI to provide precision metal optical mirrors for use in tank fire control systems. The original 5 year IDIQ contract, awarded in April of 2012, has a maximum value of $2.2 million, and previous releases totalling just over $1 Million.

Inrad Optics recent consolidation of the Sarasota, Florida metal optics production facility into their Northvale, NJ operations center was completed earlier this year and the company is well prepared to begin production on the new requirement.

Precision metal optics carry out an important duty in modern tank warfare. The electro-optic fire control systems that give tanks their ability to shoot on the move are built around precision single axis metal mirrors. The Inrad Optics has a long history producing these mirrors to the military’s exacting optical and mechanical standards.
