SIGMA-KOKI group settles today in the European market. The Asian leader in the manufacture and marketing of optical components and opto-mechanical instruments for scientific research, has 520 employees worldwide, including 400 in Japan, 100 in China and 20 in the USA.
The group has choose France as strategic point from where to strengthen its presence in the European territory.
After a year of investigation throughout the hexagon to find a site that combines all the technical resources and a knowledge of excellence in the field of optics, SIGMA-KOKI group decided to settle in Ile of France and, in particularly, in Essonne.
A choice determined by the potential of the territory accredited by the competitiveness cluster "SYSTEMATIC", with the precious presence of the Optics Valley network (Polytechnique, Orsay ... ), , a network of players and decision-makers very engaged in supporting the photonics business
The first goal will be to consolidate the sales team with the already existing network of distributors in France and Europe. Strongly supported by the Agency for the Economy of Essonne (EEA), which assisted its establishment in the town of Les Ulis (Essonne), the group aims to increase its business and promote employment by recruiting a dozen people over the next five years.
With its expertise into attract and serve companies with implementation projects, the EEA is also committed to the group by bringing its know-how and assistance in the recruitment of future employees.
This collaboration has already give great results. It resulted in the hiring of highly qualified technical sales engineer.
The Agency Essonne is based on its expertise and network to boost the territorial economy and to contribute to the emergence of new resources.
Thanks to this effort Essonne shows an unemployment rate of 6.7%, nearly 4 % lower with respect to the national average.
