BIOLASE Announces Appointment of Chief Executive Officer

Key chareholder and interim CEO Federic Pignatelli takes on the role permanently, while drawing an annual salary of just $1.

IRVINE, CA (September 30, 2010) - BIOLASE Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:BLTI), the world's leading dental laser company, is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has appointed Federico Pignatelli the permanent Chief Executive Officer of BIOLASE. Previously, Pignatelli was the interim Chief Executive Officer of BIOLASE. Pignatelli has agreed to continue at an annual salary compensation of $1.00 as Chief Executive Officer.

Pignatelli is the Chairman of the Board of BIOLASE, and has served, over the past 16 years, in the capacities of Executive Chairman, Interim CEO, and President.

The Company also announced that it commenced an official search for a Chief Financial Officer / Chief Operating Officer position. The Board of Directors expects to make an appointment to this role following a thorough and robust executive search process.
