PowerPhotonic Hires Laser Micro-Optics Industry Veteran to Run North America Operations

World leader in precision laser micro-optics expands industry strengthens presence in key market.

Dalgety Bay, UK, Friday 7 June, 2013 – PowerPhotonic today announces the strategic hiring of its new head of North America operations. Working out of its new North America micro-optics customer and technical support center in Pleasanton California, Jason Alexander will be responsible for managing the growth of PowerPhotonic’s business across North America.

Jason Alexander is a 25-year industry veteran with a strong track record of success in the photonics industry. Most recently, Alexander has had stints at laser diode industry leader, Dilas Inc., as well as Osram Opto Semiconductors and Lightwave Electronics Corp., now part of JDS Uniphase.

Mr. Alexander will be focused on growing PowerPhotonic’s customer base in the materials processing, defence, medical systems and optical communications markets as well as supporting the launch of its new low cost fabrication service for the general purpose micro-optics market.
