Gooch & Housego announces formation of corporate engineering group

Date Announced: 28 Jan 2013

Ilminster, UK - 28 January 2013

Photonic systems and components manufacturer Gooch & Housego (G&H) is pleased to announce the formation of a new corporate level engineering group specifically to handle externally funded system design and development activities. The new Systems Technology Group (STG) will build on G&H's existing expertise in customizing and integrating a wide range of optical technologies. This team will work with market facing customers to help design with them the new photonic system products they need and then transfer these seamlessly into G&H's worldwide manufacturing operations for volume production. The group will initially comprise several of G&H's most senior engineers and report to our Senior VP, Andrew Robertson and our CTO, Murray Reed. G&H anticipates a wide range of wide range of opportunities, in diagnostic and therapeutic life science systems and in space, aerospace and defense applications. Consequentially the Systems Technology Group is expected to expand rapidly and be a significant vehicle for the continued growth of G&H.
“Our aim is to harness G&H's unique engineering capabilities and focus these on achieving our strategic plan of becoming a complete solutions provider by supplying systems design services in addition to components and modules” said Murray Reed, G&H's CTO.
