Labsphere Appoints New Director of Products and Services and Global Product Manager

Date Announced: 01 Nov 2012

Corbyn, Mahajan have 20 years of combined Labsphere experience.

North Sutton, New Hampshire (November 1, 2012) – Labsphere, Inc. has promoted longtime employees Richard Corbyn and Vikrant Mahajan to new positions. Corbyn, a 13-year veteran of the company, is Director of Standard Products and Services, where he steers Labsphere’s product line in reflectance standards and integrating spheres. Mahajan, a seven-year Labsphere veteran, has been named Global Product Manager of LED and Solid State Lighting.

Corbyn was previously Labsphere’s Director of Corporate Quality and director of the company’s international sales and business development. That experience makes him uniquely qualified to meet customers’ expectations on Labsphere’s products and services, with insight into the various applications challenges companies face and what they will need in the future. Corbyn received dual bachelor’s degrees, including a Bachelor of Science in Physical Sciences from Lakehead University (Ontario, Canada), and he earned teaching certification from the University of Maine.

Mahajan has an extensive background in the photonics industry. He was most recently the Product Manager for Labsphere’s UV-2000S UVA/UVB Sunscreen Analyzer, as well as Business Development Manager for South Asia – a role he will continue along with his new global LED responsibilities.

He has prior history in a variety of photonics subsectors such as LED/SSL photometry and spectroscopy. Mahajan earned a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Rhode Island (Kingston, R.I.) and a degree from the S.G.S. Institute of Technology and Science (Indore, India).
