Laser Energetics Teams With CACI International to Provide Laser Optical Distracters to the US Federal Government

Date Announced: 13 Aug 2012

Companies Intend to Be Leaders in Growing Market for Non-Lethal Weapons.

MERCERVILLE, NJ--(Marketwire - Aug 13, 2012) - Laser Energetics, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: LNGT) today announced that it has entered into a strategic teaming agreement with CACI International Inc (NYSE: CACI) to provide the Dazer Laser® - Light Fighting Technologies Product Line of laser optical distracters to the US Department of Defense and other federal government organizations.

Optical distracters are innovative new tools that temporarily impair the vision of adversaries, providing a force multiplier for U.S. Military, Homeland Security, and Law Enforcement personnel. Over the next decade, the market for such non-lethal weapons is forecasted to grow significantly as governments worldwide work to counter asymmetric warfare threats and protect citizens with better technology.

The Dazer Laser® Product Line consists of hand-held and weapons-mounted models that have advanced operational and safety features which are unique in the industry. The products offer desirable stand-off distances for operators when required, are eye-safe for very close combat and crowd control scenarios, are combat effective at extended long ranges, and have low weight and effective power characteristics that meet and exceed current mission capability requirements.

The Dazer Laser® products are the only Optical Distractors in the world that can be operated both safely and effectively from 1-1000 meters and beyond (model dependent). This makes it both safe to the threat and effective for the Warfighter and Law Enforcement users because of Laser Energetics' unique patent pending optical design that is incorporated into all Dazer Lasers®.

CACI, Inc. will provide key logistics support for the products including deployment planning, installation and training, warranty management and sparing, field service representatives, and help desk services. The company will leverage its significant experience and deep understanding of US Military and Homeland Security missions, along with Laser Energetics' cutting-edge technologies, to offer customized solutions that enhance client missions and technical capabilities.

"Teaming with CACI is strategic for our company to increase sales and further penetrate the federal market space," stated Robert D. Battis, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Laser Energetics. "We are excited to work with CACI, which has a significant presence in various federal organizations and a solid track record of innovative solutions delivery. We have met with many of America's Warfighters and Laser Energetics has demonstrated that we're the only company that can supply an Optical Distractor that can be operated both 'Safely and Effectively' from 1-1000 meters away. Effectiveness will keep our Warfighters alive and that is the goal of Laser Energetics."

John Mengucci, CACI Chief Operating Officer and President of U.S. Operations, stated, "Our strategic teaming with Laser Energetics enables us to leverage the lifecycle engineering and logistics capabilities we have developed in our C4ISR market segment to enter the market for non-lethal technologies. We believe our companies can offer unique advantages for US troops as well as other military communities, border security, and peace-keeping operations. Our solutions can enhance protection for all services and introduce new efficiencies to the mission."

According to CACI President and Chief Executive Officer Dan Allen, "In the C4ISR arena, there is a growing demand from combatant commanders, law enforcement officers, and governments worldwide for non-lethal weapons capabilities. As a result, many governments, led by the United States, are entering into non-lethal weapons research, design, and procurement, covering the full spectrum of public safety, law enforcement, crowd control, and asymmetric warfare. CACI and Laser Energetics intend to be the leading solution providers in this field."
