Artemis Optical are delighted to have been awarded a Supply Chains in the Twenty First Century Bronze Award. The award is due to be presented at a ceremony held by the ASD Group at The Farnborough International Airshow on Thursday 12th July 2012. Ian Moyes (Managing Director) and Steph Hardisty (Quality Assurance Manager) will be attending to accept the award. SC21 is a change programme designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace & defence industry by raising the performance of its supply chains. The UK is number one in Europe and second only to the US globally, in the aerospace and defence industry.
To achieve an SC21 award a company must demonstrate world class business performance in all aspects including delivery and services to customers, in internal business efficiency and furthermore a continuous sustainable improvement culture throughout the organisation. Artemis Optical Limited achieved a bronze award having demonstrated >90% on time delivery, 98% customer acceptance and dedication to a sustainable improvement programme, across a 12 month performance period.
Steph Hardisty, Quality Assurance Manager for Artemis Optical Limited has led this ongoing improvement programme, together with the support of all the employees.
Speaking of this achievement, Steph Hardisty: “We are delighted that our company’s efforts have resulted in achieving the SC21 bronze award. Quality and delivery performance are integral to our mission statement of continuous improvement and SC21 is a key part of our improvement philosophy to support and add value to our customers. We are absolutely committed to the program and have targeted to advance to Silver Accreditation”.
Ian Moyes, Managing Director comments: "I couldn't be more proud of Steph and the rest of the team. This is a huge boost for us. We've known for a long time that Artemis was capable of extraordinary things, our KPI's proved that but we always felt our customers and prospects were dubious that it was true. After all few, if any, optics companies can produce the on-time delivery and first time delivered quality necessary to achieve such an award, never mind the raft of other "best practice" business management measures that SC21 requires you to embody. Now we've had our performance independently benchmarked it's undeniable; Artemis are amongst the best performing optics companies in the World. I know that we've all worked hard for this but we would never have achieved it without the indefatigable efforts of Steph Hardisty, I'm extremely grateful to her. Now, we're setting her back to work to achieve a silver award!"
