New England Optical Systems Appoints Peter Kornik Director of Business Development

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Optical Systems Inc. (NEOS) today announced the appointment of Peter Kornik as director of Business Development. Peter will be responsible for the development of new customers in all segments of NEOS business including ISR systems, combat systems, test systems, commercial systems, and astronomical instrumentation. Kornik’s twenty years of experience in the optics industry will greatly benefit New England Optical Systems.

“Peter Kornik brings the right mix of technical knowledge and industry experience to NEOS that we believe will best support our customers, and is an asset to our growing company,” said Chief Operating Officer Todd Stolberg. “I am confident that Peter will exceed our expectations to grow our company in the coming years. This move will help to make NEOS the premier supplier of infrared optical systems.”

Kornik joins NEOS from the Axsys Technologies division of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, where he held the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing. While at Axsys he managed all sales and marketing efforts for the optical systems group, which equated to approximately $150MM in sales. He was employed at Axsys for 5 years. Prior to Axsys, Kornik worked 8 years at Janos Technology in sales, and the previous 7 years at United Lens Company and OPCO Laboratory in manufacturing. Kornik earned a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Central New England College, and is currently pursuing a business degree from Franklin Pierce College.

NEOS is an engineering and manufacturing company of high performance optical systems, from the infrared down to visible wavebands. Additionally, they design and build custom infrared interferometers and automated MTF test stations. Prototype to production capable, they serve thermal imaging markets of surveillance, reconnaissance, tracking, navigation, LAV, UAV, aerospace, soldier systems, astronomical, and commercial.
