Suit filed in Dusseldorf relates to "the output of optical energy of lasers".
IRVINE, CA (April 25, 2012) - BIOLASE Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:BLTI), the World's leading dental laser manufacturer and distributor, today announced that it had filed a lawsuit in the Dusseldorf Patent Litigation Court asserting that one of its European competitors is infringing on BIOLASE European Patent EP 1 560 470, which relates to the output of optical energy of lasers. The lawsuit, filed on April 13, 2012, seeks both cash damages and injunctive relief from the courts. The lawsuit was filed after failed attempts were made to create an amicable business arrangement between the two companies.
