Amonix and Lead Investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers Announce Transitional Leadership Plan

Date Announced: 12 Jan 2012

Jan van Dokkum named interim Chief Executive Officer of Amonix.

Seal Beach, Calif., Jan 12, 2011 – Amonix Inc., the leading designer and manufacturer of utility-scale concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) solar power systems and lead investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), announced their interim management plan in succession with the tragic passing of Amonix CEO, Brian Robertson. Robertson was a solar pioneer with significant expertise in the solar industry. He joined Amonix in late 2009 with the acquisition of Sunworks Solar LLC, where he was co-founder and CEO (2008-2009). Prior to that, he co-founded Sun Edison LLC. Under his leadership at Amonix, the company grew its installed marketshare and is well-positioned for ongoing success. His strong legacy will continue to be honored by Amonix and those he touched.

Energy expert and partner at KPCB, Jan van Dokkum, has been named interim CEO for Amonix. Van Dokkum brings a wealth of power experience. Prior to joining KPCB, he was with UTC Power, a division of United Technologies, for seven years. There, he was involved in the development of the company’s on-site power generation products and services, including stationary fuel cells, renewable power solutions, and combined cooling, heating and power applications for commercial buildings. Before joining UTC Power, van Dokkum served as president and CEO of Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution.

“The passing of Brian Robertson is an unthinkable tragedy and it is my goal to succeed him and provide strong leadership and direction for the Amonix team,” said van Dokkum, interim CEO of Amonix. “I am committed to continuing Amonix’ success in offering the world’s most efficient CPV systems for utility-scale installations domestically and internationally.”

The Board of Directors at Amonix has enlisted an executive search firm and has established a search committee for the selection and appointment of a new CEO.
