Date Announced: 13 Dec 2011
Short Course "Basics on Laser and Laser Material Processing" spread over two days.
Following the huge success of its première event in 2010 the short course "Basics on Laser and Laser Material Processing" will be offered again for LASYS 2012 and this time the course will be held on two days. The first two trade fair days of LASYS, which is taking place from 12 - 14 June 2012 in Stuttgart, are reserved for the short course. On Tuesday, 12 June, the focus will be on laser system technology and laser beam sources and on Wednesday, 13 June, methods for laser material processing will take centre stage.
The German Scientific Laser Society (WLT) under the management of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Ostendorf is responsible for organising this training programme and ensuring the high competence of the keynote speakers. "With the short course we want to introduce visitors to the topic of laser and laser material processing who to date have no extensive knowledge in the area and demonstrate to them the opportunities made possible by this technology for production. In addition, the participants will obtain an overview of the state of technology and current developments in laser technology, is how Prof. Ostendorf outlined the content of the seminar.
The list of keynote speakers for the short course reads like a who's who in the laser scene. There will be keynote speakers from Germany's most well-known laser centres and institutes, as well as well-known laser technology manufacturers. On the day dedicated to laser system technology and laser beam sources, the basic principles of laser will be addressed, the system technology for laser material processing presented, ultra-brilliant beam sources and pulse laser systems used and beam shaping and beam control explained, and the important topic of laser safety will also be looked at.
With regard to laser material processing, laser welding, cutting and coating of larger components will be the focus, as well as precision laser material processing in the production of electronics and precision engineering. How one gets from rapid prototyping to rapid manufacturing and uses these to break new ground in manufacturing technology will also be explained. And finally the focus will turn to the monitoring and quality assurance of laser processes and the utilisation of government incentives and subsidies. The day ticket including a visit to the trade fair costs 94 Euro and the combo ticket for two days is 180 Euro. Further information, as well as the complete seminar programme, are available at: www.lasys-messe.de
The short course appeals to all industries in which laser is used for processing purposes. These industries include mechanical engineering, the automotive sector, metalworking industry, plant and apparatus construction, electrical and electronics industry, prototype construction and medical technology. The contributions will show solutions for practical usage and in addition will communicate basic knowledge on the right choice of optimal systems and beam sources for specific applications.
Approximately 200 exhibitors are expected at LASYS 2012. Over three days they will showcase their innovations and further developments in laser technology in Hall 4. The focus will mainly be on laser applications and product solutions, laser production systems for micro and macro material processing, as well as for precision engineering. LASYS is aimed specifically at users and providers of laser material processing and is oriented to all industries and all types of materials, and is thus a unique event in the trade fair business.
For the first time at LASYS 2012 new, innovative companies are able to avail themselves of a grant from the Federal Ministry of the Economy and Technology (BMWi) because LASYS has been accepted as an international trade fair in the BMWi incentive programme. For participation in the trade fair, the BMWi assumes a large proportion of the costs for the stand rental and stand construction to give even small companies the opportunity to participate in the trade fair. The incentive programme on offer from the BMWi is aimed specifically at new, innovative companies who have their head office and business operations in Germany. The companies must be on the market for less than ten years, have a maximum of 50 employees and not achieve a turnover exceeding 10 million EUR per year. Further information is available at: www.bafa.de and www.foerderdatenbank.de.
LASYS 2012 offers valuable synergy effects for visitors. For the first time ever the international trade fair for automotive component suppliers, the international trade fair for engine design, components, manufacturing, test and development, the car and truck interior design, development and construction showcase, the international showcase exhibition and conference for vehicle dynamics technologies and components, and the international automotive test, evaluation and quality engineering trade fair organised by the British organiser UKIP Media & Events Ltd. will take place parallel to LASYS 2012. O&S, the international trade fair for surface treatments and coatings, will also overlap with LASYS.
