Photoluminescence maps (37x37 μm²) show formation of perovskite.
Photoluminescence maps (37 x 37 μm²) capturing the formation of methylammonium lead iodide perovskite (CH3NH3PbI3) by the reaction of lead iodide (PbI2) films with methylammonium iodide (CH3NH3I) solution for 10 seconds. PbI2 emits light between 500-550 nm (green) while the CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite emits between 700-800 nm (red). Left: Film prepared in the dark showing the perovskite crystals forming (red) amidst unconverted PbI2 (green). Right: Film prepared under light showing the greatly accelerated formation of perovskite (red).
