How laser-based sandwich cladding works. Click for info.
How laser-based sandwich cladding works: The system conveys a flexible web of hollow metallic inner structures between two rollers and unrolls the lower as well as the upper sheet cover layer. Two lasers aim into the ultra-thin gap between the inner structure web and the cover sheet and melt the surfaces of the metal layers. The rollers press the sheets and inner structures together, the molten metal solidifies and permanently fixes the two together. © Fraunhofer IWS.
