| IQE's VCSEL epiwafers are fabricated on different material substrates depending on the required wavelength. The company is now set to transition its germanium-based VCSEL production to a larger (200 mm-diameter) platform, meaning that greater economy of scale in manufacturing should lead to lower individual device prices and uptake in a larger number of applications.
