The developer kit is designed to enable new applications using Texas Instruments'DMD - the same light modulation technology used in DLP™ projectors and TVs. DMD Discovery™ products enable the system developer to load binary data into the DMD and create light patterns with high update rates.

The DMD is the only volume production device that is both a micro-electronic mechanical system (MEMS) and reflective spatial light modulator (SLM). No other SLMs have the speed, precision or broadband spectral capability.
