The company was formed in 2003, its founder members having previously worked together in the high-speed imaging field and bringing over 80 years' combined experience to the venture.

The company is at the forefront of world-wide innovation in the high-speed imaging field, having been awarded the BEEA's Small Company of the year in 2009 and the Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2011 & 2016.
