Thousands are flocking to this year's laser congress to experience a variety of laser and optoelectronics events.
Laser 2001 - World of Photonics is gearing up to start on 18 June, and more than 15,000 trade visitors are expected to attend. Taking place in Munich, Germany, the show will have around 900 companies exhibiting laser and optoelectronics technologies, including optical information and communications, production engineering and medical applications.
The 15th International Conference on Lasers and Electro-optics in Europe will run alongside Laser 2001. This year's program includes the European conference on biomedical optics, lasers in manufacturing, metrology and art conservation, progress in solid-state lasers, and quantum information and communications.
Delegates can also look forward to live laser demonstrations and a photonics forum to discuss the latest trends in the photonics sector. The fifth International Laser Market-place will be held on 21 June, where US, Asian and European speakers will examine key markets for laser machining.
