Photonics West - success in San Jose

Scott Walker of conference organisers SPIE told exhibitors at a breakfast meeting on Thursday morning (25th January) of the enormous success of this year's event. Final figures were unavailable at the time of writing however more than 600 companies exhibited necessitating the expansion of the exhibition into the adjacent Parkside Hall.

A further indicator of the strength of the show and the industry in general was provided by the number of first time exhibitors present and by the size and importance of the Career Center (once again sponsored by OPTICS.ORG).
