HP, Ando sign agreement to develop and market DWDM and SONET/SDH

Hewlett-Packard Company (Palo Alto, California) and Ando Electric Co. Ltd (Tokyo, Japan) have signed an agreement to develop and market test instruments for the high-bandwidth DWDM and SONET/SDH functional test market. The joint development agreement focuses on high-bandwidth opportunity at OC-192 and a joint business team will direct the development of products in Scotland (HP's Telecoms Networks Test Division is located in South Queensferry) and Japan. The first product is expected to be released in 9 to 12 months.
