Teracom, Nokia, Senda launch digital terrestrial TV in Sweden

Digital terrestrial television begun broadcasting in Sweden Oct. 28 with transmission in five test regions. The ten digital channels, including one for interactive services, are a product of Swedish network operator Teracom (Stockholm), administrator Senda (Stockholm) and digital set top box provider Nokia (Espoo, Finland). The digital network will cover half of Sweden's population by January 1, 1999.
