Candela drops "Laser" from its name

Candela Laser (Wayland, MA) has dropped the word "laser" from its name, paving the way for greater product diversity. Gerard Puorro, CEO, says that while the company will continue to develop its core medical-laser-systems business, it has two other major areas of emphasis: distribution of cryogenic surgical devices and laser cosmetic services. The first Candela Skin Care Center was opened in October 1995 in Framingham, MA.
