The team used a conventional THz-TDS set-up. A low-temperature-grown GaAs antenna was used as an emitter and a low-temperature-grown InGaAs antenna as a receiver. The antennae were illuminated with 10mW of optical power each, and a bias voltage of 20V was applied to the emitter antenna. THz radiation was generated over the bandwidth of 0.1 to 0.8 THZ, above the noise floor. (Image credit: Vasileios Apostolopoulos) |
