University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) single photon source

The team from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) has been amazed by how many single photons are emitted from their source.

An innovative microcavity design means that the SPS emits photons at a rate of 4.0 MHz. Until now, the highest measured SP rates were around 200 kHz.
