| The sky's the limit: SolFocus says that its concentrator systems, which use mirrors rather than lenses to focus sunlight onto the III-V semiconductor, were partly based on designs used for automotive lighting. Because of this, they are said to be both highly manufacturable, and offer a wide acceptance angle to ensure that the focus spot remains on the semiconductor material all day. Credit: SolFocus. |
