James Webb Space Telescope uses cryogenic mirrors and a wavefront sensing and control system to peer back into space to just after the Big Bang

The James Webb Space Telescope will have a 6.6 m diameter primary mirror which would give it a significantly larger collecting area than the mirrors available on the current generation of telescopes. Hubble Space Telescope's mirror much smaller, at 2.4 m in diameter.
