Intel's laser is optically pumped by an amplified external cavity diode laser emitting 3W continuous wave at 1550 nm. The pump beam passes through a polarization controller followed by a thin-film based wavelength demultiplexer and is coupled into the waveguide cavity by a lensed fiber through the dichroic-coated front facet. The Raman laser output and the refected pump beam are coupled back into the lensed fiber and separated through the waveguide demultiplexer.(Credit: Intel) |
