Scientists show that a bare metal wire can guide terahertz pulses
Terahertz endoscope: input pulses, generated using a fibre-coupled photoconductive transmitter, are launched into the detection region with a straight metal wire waveguide 0.9mm in diameter. A Y-splitter structure directs reflected pulses to a branch waveguide for detection and processing. (credit: Rice University, US)
