Omnivision hopes that its new 5 Mpixel CMOS sensor (OV 5610) will displace CCDs in the consumer digital camera market. Inset: the OV6650 is allegedly the industry's smallest CMOS image sensor for camera phones. It offers a colour image with CIF (352 x 288) resolution.
