woven fabric of composite fibers
A woven spectrometric fabric. The fabric consists of interleaved threads, 400 to 500 microns thick, chosen from the device fibres. The visual appearance of the fabric, specifically the range of exhibited colours, is a result of the tight control exerted over the optical properties of the produced fibres (image credit: Greg Hren Photography/Research Laboratory of Electronics).
