anti-reflective, anti-fogging, scratch proof coating technology
University of Queensland researchers Paul Meredith and Michael Harvey are busy developing XeroCoat - an anti-reflective, anti-fogging, scratch proof surface coating technology. XeroCoat uses simple sol-gel chemistry in combination with conventional spin, dip or spray coating techniques, to produce highly uniform, optically transparent, mechanically robust thin silica films with a controlled refractive index. The coating can be applied to a range of substrates including glass, plastics, metals, ceramics and semiconductor materials. (Credit: University of Queensland, Australia)
