| e2v delivered the CCD chips to the French Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (CEA). The CEA was responsible for building the MegaCam. This image shows a view of the 40 e2v sensors mounted on a precision plate prior to assembly by the CEA into their cryogenic camera. The array is cooled to a temperature of around - 120°C.
